Tiger Tiger Burning Bright...

I always had this concept of William Blame being a little bit of a nutter. Not because of his poetry but because of his eccentic art and attitude. He had a tendancy to write in opposites that is to write a happy poem to balance off one of his sad poems. Little Boy Lost verse Little Boy Found; The Tiger verses the Lamb. Yet he did have a way of looking deeply at a situation and producing something unique.
If he was nuts then perhaps there is a good argument to nuture a little madness.
Here I have found his poem Tiger Tiger (The Tiger) translated into song by the German Band Tangerine Dream. It may be something odd at first and seem a little crazy but I certain that it would suit William Blake's mindset.

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And, when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?
Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
And

His art is definitely out there. But pleasant in an odd way.
Very much an optomist.
I also like what Tangerine Dream did with it also.
I figure that there is more to life than just controversy.
Enjoy
