Sri Lankan Civil War News: The Battle for the LTTE capital has begun
Breaking News 24-11-2008
News is coming from multiple sources claiming tat the final battle to capture the LTTE (Liberation Tamil Tiger of Eelam) capital of Kilinochchi.
Heavy fighting and bombardments has resulted in increasing casualty figures.
The LTTE sites are estimating over 120 Sri Lankan soldiers have been killed. However the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense stopped releasing casualty figures a few weeks ago.
The capital of Kilinochchi has been in rebel hands for close to a decade and is where the the LTTE leader is said to be stationed.

Thanks for your comments.
That has been the situation since about May this year,
Whether it translates into a clear victory for the Sri Lankan forces is yet to be seen.
Despite this in a civil war situation it takes about 60 years for the whole matter to be resolved to the point of mutual respect and trust.
