One of my mates from Uni, is making me feel awkward

Ok, here is the catch, I got this very good friend from Uni, who happens to be a girl, her name is G.G (I am only using initials here.)
The only reason we became friends to begin with was because I got the hots for her and I think she had a crush on me too. But, I didn’t asked her out, because I had personal issue in my life at that time, I didn’t want to drag anybody into it.
So, we remain as mates and after Uni, we practically lost contact, other then occasion Email exchanges.
Anyway she is a mum now and I congratulate her. But I felt a bit awkward, to stay in contact with her after that, so I stop excahnging Email with her, soon after.
I haven’t been in contact with G.G for over a year by now. Yesterday, she found my face book account and contacted me. So, I send a message back. Of course I am excited to be back in contact with an old mate, but still because I still got a bit of hots for her so it made me felt very very very very awkward!!!
So, now I am going to go find myself a girl friend quickly!!! I am definitly going to a bar to pick up girls this week end, to get rid of this awkward feeling, it is very very very annoying
