Iraq War 5 Years and still claiming that it is a great success. Thankyou GWB.

Iraq War 5 Years and still claiming that it is a great success. Thankyou GWB.

How does one define failure if Iraq is deemed to be a great success?
That is easy you just keep telling lie after lie until some uneducated dolt believes them.
Better still surround yourself with cowardly ‘Yes Men’ and bathe in the reflected BS.
Finally there are always mindless party hacks who will swallow every lie you tell the actively repeat what they know to be a lie in the hope that the world is full of mindless dolts.

Reasons Given
Weapons of mass destruction- It was a total lie – but some still promote it as true.

Links to al Qaeda – also a lie – but we still have people claiming that it was true.

Yes the war in Iraq is a screaming success as long as you have your head buried in the sand.

How does one define failure? Quite simple. Had it been a Democratic president who declared war on Iraq, it would be deemed a failure. As such, since it is the GOP, the Iraq war is a success!

Come off it Damo, don't tell me you haven't noticed that the surge is working?

I'm just going to repeat that little beauty until even I believe it. The surge is working! The surge is working! There is good news coming out of Iraq!

Hey, I know you are not a fan of the Democrats either but surely you can at least appreciate that they never would have gotten themselves involved in such a venture in the first place right?

I often wonder what this world would be like had Al not been robbed eight years ago.

Is it all due to the surge?
What about the shift from the largest group of insurgents to start opposing al Qaeda in Iraq?
Silly question. We should never question GWB. Trust him.

Whether it was a Democrat or Republican who said go it would not matter. The whole idea was bad from the start.

The two accusation to justify the invasion have been proved to be a complete and utter lie.
All evidence of that lie points to GWB and co.

So they slaughter thousands and want to be remembered as being better than Saddam.
Good luck with that historical delusion.

"Whether it was a Democrat or Republican who said go it would not matter. The whole idea was bad from the start."

True, of course, but I just don't think the democrats would have gone in there in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the Democrats are the answer to all the world's problems but I don't think they would be the cause of so many of them either. It's all a mute point of course...

Actually, the main reason the Iraq war is a success is because America has made the world a safer place by keeping all the terrorists busy over there. As Australians we should be kissing GWB's backside for giving us the gift of a good sound sleep. Apparently all the terrorists in the world have strapped on their backpacks and hitched a ride to Baghdad to join in the fun. Otherwise the Harbour Bridge and Opera House would have been blown to smithereens by now.

Yes, I have in all seriousness being called an ingrate for not acknowledging GWB's gift of safety and security to the people of Australia.

Also, it's okay that the Americans kill and even torture. Because they only kill and torture people that deserve it. And it keeps the rest of us safe.

No prizes for guessing who has been calling people names.

You left off terrorist supporter Lib/Dem.

Yep, you have to love the perfect circular logic of a party hack.

I am saddened that the war rages on. I rage on about it. My godson is still fighting in Iraq after being sent back home with the promise of no more tours in Iraq (after 3 in two years). But he serves his country with pride because at 18, he enlisted for the college benfits. Now as a husbnd andfather, he is tired of the fight. Tired of being away from his wife and daughter. Tired of seeing the terror of war. Wanting to get our FOR GOOD.

Here is a link to an article Town]Really Long Link of War Widows article/LINK] regarding a Texas town with more American war widows than any other state. My cousin is in this article as one of the widows who lost a husband, father, and best friend. The press has been merciless and follow her wanting yet another story. This story meant to generate sympathy for the cause.....but for my family, it is a constant reminder of our loss.

Thanks for your comments.
It is a tough issue especially for the soldiers involved since they go where they are told do what they may rather not do.

I have heard similar stories from other conflicts. Kings start wars but stay at home to write speeches about the glory of the conflict.

I hope that this nonsense is over sooner rather than later and I hope that your godson comes home safely.

I'll start reading that article.
