I call it my Brain Dead Contribution that is no more nor less brain-dead than half the controversy contributions that are about.

Just wanted to sound controversial myself..
Anyhoo, completely contrary to my usually 'typographically verbose' self-expressionism, I must say, I do admire an adroit, pithy and minimalist argument and/or statement.
So, in the spirit of Orblean communion of debate, I charge the following;
#####, **** ** %%%@@# &&##!!!!
(and no, no vulgarity was used, just monosyllabic yet deeply thought provoking complex words!)
cheers
fog
AND NOW, LIVE FROM ORBLEWORLD THEATRE.....(SFX: drum roll)
THE ORBLE AWARD, IN THE CATEGORY OF SENSATIONALISM, FOR MINIMALIST STATEMENT OF THE YEAR... GOES TO....
(SFX: DRUM ROLL...)
ORBLEAN....
DAMO!!!!
(SFX: Symbol crash and fan fare)
(Much cheering and clapping, streamers and sparkly pieces of confetti falling from above)
SPEECH!!! SPEECH!!!!

It could be worse.
I could lashing out with hateful offensive images to pick at people emotions and stir vulgar passions.
Seen that too often.

Those are semi colons.
How is that for being controversial?
The Rationalists have already tried to arrest me, the PC have to take a number.

Not sure how to answer that.
You have me a little stumped.
Are trying to make 50 separate DSA's?
Disunited States of America.
I like the idea because it doesn't effect me.

At the end of the 2 weeks the northern states become Mexican states and the Southern states become Canadian. Except Alaska who will join with Russia.
Cool.

I was pondering upon your response...
Orble seems to be the burlesque of debate; brash, rash, rude and crude, an arena where logic, compassion, ignorance, bias, bigotry and phobia all crash headlong together, to create a melee of emotional performance.
A virtual stage for real egos, where bold type, colour or captals and exclamation marks can be used in the literary assault, meant angrily or not, even these ancillaries to open communication can conspire against the writer, to mark them as antagonistic, rude or angry, or just plain mad... sigh...
And so, vulgarity, in word and image, should be the expected norm in Orbleworld.
I too, can be Orblean Vulgaris...

I think you hit the nail on the head in many ways. It is a good old fashion power struggle and ego trip.
I read a lot writers and ignore a few. If people are genuine it comes through regardless of what their opinion is. With some people you can see the writing is an outlet and they really good people trying to put down a few thoughts. Others delude themselves that blogs are the most important thing on the planet. Kevin Rudd regularly calls me to check policy before an announcement. Hehehe.
So we are left little ego's lashing out for attention. I thought that 'Mature Content' would have been appropriate for some, but that seems to be reserved for lesser things. Do the the writers assume that children do not browse on to this site? Or do they just not care?
There is also the group who subscribe to the view that controversy sells so therefore it is the supreme goal of writers to be controversial. Bring out the Bear Baiting if the Shakespeare play is doing badly because it is just as artistic and uplifting to see.
There is also the ideologues who are here to sell an agenda and think that all the old dirty tricks that they use are going to work. Smear campaigns, poisoning the well, entrism, Baiting, Bigotry and Outings all die out when they blew up in the faces of the users. Seen all before done by smarter people than log on here. Some with doctorates and direct connections to terrorism. So I am just waiting a little to watch history repeat itself.
Experience is a great teacher.

yes, it is bizarre at times, and a little disconcerting when one is entrapped by one's own ego, into a 'debate', often disguised opportunities for abuse and bigotry, when normally, if in the real world, we would probably sigh and walk away from the moron instigator without coment.
Orble is a place of catharsis I suppose... I have certainly posted a few rants on pet topics of injustice and whatnot that not everyone agrees with, or believes in, yet often they object without the research needed to make a fully informed opinion about the topic, they react because of a natural inclination towards their own bias, instead of considering the information before them.
Also, I agree about the age access question, and have put it directly to Orble, a couple of times now, again just recently, but they seem incapable of dealing with it, on a technical level.
I still think my idea for a junior (under 18) Orble, I called "JOrble" and a senior Orble, I called "SOrble" (18 up) was a good solution!
For, without naming anyone in particular, on the odd occasion I have been bored, frustrated and even angered by ignorant comments obviously made by 'juniors' on some blogs, and now I see the Orble popular posts list is being swallowed by music/movie sites only some low brow youth would enjoy.
Similarly, I know they would be bored to death by our topics and comments, but, at least we don't fake the 'jive' 'hood' speak of America, that they seem so enamoured with.
I still don't get their use of American gang slang and hand signal nonsense, for it comes from the LA Latin gang culture, for the most part, and the ironic thing is, should any of our local youths dare to venture into the LA gang world, they would be shot, stabbed and/or robbed within seconds of hitting the streets there!
That is the irony, they celebrate a kind of alternative culture, that objects to adults and the 'system', which is fine in principle, however, the originators of this so admired culture/behaviour would reject these local youths too.
Imitating another culture that would not appreciate you, in the least, does not make sense to me...
cheers

Orble is a microcosm with in a microcosm. Often what people think are important can end up being trivial.
Power struggles in microcosm are probably the most futile turf war on the planet.

What is in a name? Everything.
A spade is spade and not a shovel.
However I thing Diogenes helps simplify things with his reaction to human being defined as 'A biped that is largely furless and featherless."
He dragged a plucked chicken in to hall, flung it down and declared, "Here is your man."
By defining commas as semi-colons we have just awoken the ghost of Diogenes again.
May the PC police implode.

Diogenes also went looking for an honest man with a lit lamp in the daytime. Did no good at all.
DOOONNN't think you can sidetrack me with semantics, Damo!
I, the bastard child of a comma and a period, have officially taken offense.
I'm not going to tell you whose fence it is, either...

H G Wells said that all chairs are basically the same.
Of course if you stretch the definition even a footstool is a chair under his definition.

I am having a bit of trouble following your line of thinking. I do not live in the USA so I am not up to date with all that you are writing.
Yet if I do find how it will serve my personal interests (ie: there is money in it for me) then I will support your proposal.

So therefore a fence is also a dishonest method of making money. Hedge Fund Hmmm?
A fence is a hedge after all.
