African Union fails to Chastise Mugabe

African Union fails to Chastise Mugabe.
They came, they met and moved on. It was as if nothing actually happened in Zimbabwe and that the rigging of the election was met with mild disinterest. In fact the only thing that the African Union was able to come up with was an encouragement for Mugabe to enter into dialogue with opposition leader Morgan Tsvanginai.
Welcome to the age of African unity and co-operation. Unfortunately we can expect more of the same in the foreseeable future as African states with their own problems will have little interest is pointing to anyone else’s dirty linen. Africa is a mess with civil wars and border disputes rife. Yet to some degree this rejection of call by western nations to eject Mugabe from the Africa Union and impose sanctions was a predictable outcome. The bitter taste of colonialism still hangs over the memories of many of the nations, where slave trading and land exploitation had taken place years ago. Zimbabwe when it was called Rhodesia also tried to enforce its own version of apartheid which led to a civil war that was only really over when (you guessed it) Mugabe came to power.
The native savoir verses the British oppression play out across all its previous colonies: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and even Ireland. It would take too long to list all the errors that were done by the former British Empire but definitely many were deliberate acts of cruelty designed to keep people subjugated. It is most likely this history that has kept the antagonism to the west alive in the African Union.
Weapon are flowing into Africa from willing suppliers to fuel even more civil wars. The Democratic Congo Republic has had millions killed in recent years. The Darfur region has refugee camps with millions of displaced people. South Africa has been home to several riots against the Zimbabwe refugees. There is ample reason for the African Union to remain silent and on friendly terms like visitors to the same brothel that bump into each other on the street. They won’t say anything as long as the other person says nothing.
For now there will be silence from the African Union because many have their own dirty secrets.

I am not offering any solutions to this issue just a little explanation of why the African Union seem to act so strangely from time to time.

To put the price on Mugabe's head would open everyone up to the same treatment.
What about the President of Egypt?
What about all the rulers in the Darfur region.
What about the ones from the Congo?
By the time you finish the list just about every leader on the planet would have a price on their head.

As far as I can work out they all wear their dirty linen on the outside but pretend that it is not there.
Just read up on Child Soldier in Kenya. So who is going to start pointing fingers.

Damo,
now that is an indisputable fact!! I agree, no one lives forever, however, their policies and their flunkies often do, just look at the Soviet experience, and China today.
However, I still say, get rid of him!
Where does it stop, well.... good question, after Africa has been cleared of its blight of parasitic leaders, we in the West would definitely have to follow suit and make some sacrifices...
SO, who is in for putting up some names for purging?
Any ideas anyone.... maybe we shoudl go through the alphabet, starting with the letter...
"B"???
cheers and here's to the revolution!!

P.S. Of course, we should also deal with the loathsome greedy billionaires and their arms manufacturing plants...

I understand where you are coming from.
It is just that I do know the limitations of my powers and the consequences if I ever to obtain that kind of power.
